Both tests detect active COVID-19 infections, but they differ in accuracy and processing time:

Rapid (Antigen) Test

• Results in 15–30 minutes
• Ideal for quick screenings, work/school clearance, or events
• Slightly less accurate, especially in asymptomatic individuals
  

PCR Test

• Lab-processed, with results typically in 1–3 days
• More sensitive and accurate, especially for early infection
• Often required for travel, surgeries, or official documentation
