Born in Winston-Salem and raised in Kernersville, North Carolina, Dr. Tara Brayboy has always been passionate about serving others through education and healthcare. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wake Forest University, a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and completed her medical degree at Howard University College of Medicine. She went on to complete her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Texas at Tyler, Longview Campus.
Before joining AllCare, Dr. Brayboy worked with community-based programs in New York and North Carolina that helped individuals facing drug-related offenses and mental illness access treatment and rehabilitation. These early experiences shaped her dedication to providing compassionate, solution-focused care.
Outside of work, Dr. Brayboy enjoys DIY projects, reading, learning, and sharing crab legs with her husband, Carnelius. Together they are raising two energetic children, Charles and London, and share their home with two Siberian Huskies, Copper and Snow, along with a few fish—and possibly a lizard on the back porch.
