Born in Cameroon and raised between Cameroon, Michigan, and Georgia, Dr. Sylvia Akenji has always been drawn to caring for others and making a positive difference in people’s lives. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Wesleyan College and Mercer University in Macon before continuing her education at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences (UMHS) in St. Kitts & Nevis, where she earned her Doctorate in Medicine. She later completed a Master’s in Health Administration from Walden University, reflecting her commitment to understanding both the clinical and organizational aspects of healthcare.
Dr. Akenji completed her Family Medicine Residency at Northside Hospital Gwinnett, where she developed her passion for providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. She has been part of AllCare for more than three years and previously worked in urgent care, gaining experience in a wide range of clinical settings.
Outside of work, Dr. Akenji enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. She is married to a Navy veteran and values the shared sense of purpose, dedication, and service that defines both her professional and personal life.
