Born in Kingston, Jamaica and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Deveane Atkinson has built her career around service, science, and compassionate patient care. She began her academic journey at Quincy College in Quincy, Massachusetts, where she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing and graduated in the Top 5 of her class. She later continued her education at Chamberlain University, completing both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing.
Deveane is a member of AANP and ANA, and she brings more than 15 years of hands-on clinical experience to her practice. Her background includes emergency care, paramedic work, and five years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to providing accessible, patient-centered care while building trust within the communities she serves.
Her love for science and her devotion to helping others inspired her to pursue healthcare, while her passion for people and community led her to family practice. Deveane finds deep fulfillment in being able to teach, advocate, and build strong, meaningful relationships with her patients and their families. One of the most memorable experiences of her career involved a 90-year-old former patient who continued to call her for advice even seven years after she was no longer his PCP—an experience that reinforced the lifelong impact of compassionate care.Outside of medicine, Deveane enjoys reading, fishing, traveling, and track and field. She lives by the belief that “I never met a stranger,” and approaches every patient interaction with warmth, openness, and genuine connection.
